Queen School Ede/Ibadan was founded on January, 1952 by a nucleus of staff and pupils, moved out of Queen's College Lagos, to a location in Ede, now in Osun State. On the 16th of February 1952, the school was officially opened with a population of 161 pupils.
The establishment of Queen's School was in accordance with government policy to establish a Secondary Grammar School for girls in each of the then newly created regions. The school later grew in size and complexity. By April, 1967, the school was moved from Ede to the present site in Ibadan under the principalship of Mrs. R. M. Dunn.
Presently, the compound accommodates three three autonomous secondary schools viz:
(a) Junior School I    (b) Junior School II,     and (c) Senior School
The three schools have a total staff strenght of 74 academic officers viz: 
(a) Junior School I - 20,    (b) Junior School II - 19    and (c) Senior School - 35
The 1,370 current students' population of the three schools is distributed as follow:
(a) Junior School I - 390,    (b) Junior School II - 440    and (c) Senior School - 540
in the following streams:
(a) Junior School I - 14 streams,   
(b) Junior School II - 15 streams     and
(c) Senior School - 15 Streams
The division of the school into the Junior and Senior Secondary Schools is in line with the National Policy on Education and the Universal basic Education programme of the present administration in the country/state. The programme started in 2003/2004 academic session.
The current Principals of the three Queen's Schools are:

(b) I. I. Fatoki (Mrs.)    -    Junior School I
(c) O. M. Agbede (Mrs.)    -    Junior School II
